Judy is a coordinator for our LeadHer Local Fowlerville, MI chapter. Due to struggles with health in her family and her own battle with self confidence, Judy reacted to her circumstances by stepping away from the leadership role she felt called to. But God had other plans.

As our local chapters talked about Refocusing in the month of January, Judy realized that it was not an issue of incapability that was holding her back but one of focus. She shares a powerful story of how she chose to focus on God instead of her own struggle and circumstances and how He responded to her. Here’s her story, in her own words.

“The past two months I was struggling with whether I was good enough to lead a group of women for LeadHer. I know God placed it in my hands and I was very excited about the challenge over ten months ago, but challenges had come up and I wasn’t sure that I was the right person to lead anymore.

The past month I decided to step out of leading our group and let Jackie continue by herself. My pastor spoke to me and told me to just be still for awhile and meet with him in two weeks. I agreed. During that two weeks God spoke to me in several ways. First was my through my Pastor’s encouragement to wait on God, the second was through my prayer about the situation. Third was through a woman God put in my path asking if I knew of a Bible study she could get involved with. Of course I knew of one, LeadHer. Lastly was LeadHer’s January video on refocus.

Refocus, that’s exactly what I needed to do. Focus on God and His calling for my life and not on my own fears or insecurities. Through all those situations God showed me I needed to continue as a coordinator. I had always felt led to get involved within the church and it scares me to think I almost lost the opportunity because of my lack of focus. Praise God He got me back on track.”
