I have had many trials and tribulations in my lifetime. Growing up, I was not raised in the church; I came from a divorced family at the age of eight. I had a sense about God, but nobody showed him to me. I grew up very nervous and fearful.
As I grew into my late teens, I met my husband and we were married at the age of twenty. We will be celebrating our twenty-five years of being together this year and we have a fifteen-year-old son, Justin (A wise godly young man).
My husband had a part-time job and disability because of an accident regarding carpentry in 1997. The income from these positions eventually diminished. Not sure what route to take, God was showing me that my husband needed to go to trucking school. He landed his first job, which placed him away from home for a period of four to six weeks.
While he was on the road, my son and I were home alone. Even with a job, we had no choice but to file bankruptcy, and eventually let our house go. That is where my relationship with God began to deepen tendentiously.
Since these challenging times, God called me to leadership. Leadership has helped me step out of my comfort zone, to be able to speak from the heart with greater confidence, and to learn to listen.
God is currently teaching me through LeadHer to live more radically and obediently for Him. He has given me the courage to be able to share with others what it’s like to be on fire for Jesus and all the joy that comes with it.
Where God is leading me to act now is to gather the women in my community through LeadHer, build relationships with those that He puts in my path, to share my story, and to give others a time a place to share there’s.
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
